SHEDD AQUARIUM

Discover the wonder of the aquatic animal world at the Shedd Aquarium! Located at 1200 S Lake Shore Drive this location allows for spectacular views of the lakefront. If you have extra time it's a great spot to take a stroll. COVID protocols are in place so make sure to check their website prior to visiting to stay up to date on mandates. During our visits we felt safe the entire time. Tickets must be booked in advance for a specific, advanced time slot and we paid extra (worth every penny) to park in the lot closest to the entrance. Parking cost $30 for the East Museum Lot.

 

We highly recommend going to the Shedd since our kids had an amazing time. Even one year olds can appreciate brightly colored coral, beautiful fish, sea creatures, and petting stingrays! If you are looking for a Shedd experience that's a little more personal and special you can book a guided behinds the scene tour, meet penguins, hang with belugas, feed a shark, feed a stingray and touch a starfish! Older children will love the 4D and virtual reality experiences too. You can even download free audio guides for your visit and grab lunch or a snack. There is so much to see and do that is included with general admission.

 

Follow the Shedd's social media accounts to learn more about Free Days for Illinois and Chicago residents. Chicago residents get discounted pricing and educators and children under the age of 3 are free. Good luck leaving without hitting up the cute gift shop and picking out a souvenir!
